| About Us |
Education The Honey Creek Watershed Association (HCWA) has worked closely with the Miami County Park District (MCPD) to develop a large-scale environmental education program. In 2004, HCWA, in association with MCPD, received a grant from the Ohio Environmental Education Fund (OEEF) to develop and implement a Watershed Wide Education Program to "Promote Awareness for the Protection of Watersheds." This program is designed to engage students, their families, and communities in learning about how everyday activities can affect the quality of water. Watershed concepts are re-enforced through song, field trips, and models.

Students exploring the animals in the stream. The Enviroscape model allows student's a hands-on look at daily activities and how they impact the watershed. Chris Rowlands used his guitar and thought provoking questions to help students write and record songs about watershed issues. Field trips included a visit to the Waste Water Treatment Plant to see first-hand where the water goes after it flows down your drain. |
